We are Christian. To be Christian is to embrace a journey of faith, characterized by belief in Jesus Christ, adherence to His teachings, and a commitment to living out one's faith in community with others. It is a path marked by love, hope, and the transformative power of grace.
We are Lutheran. "We believe that through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God became one of us and took upon himself the sin and suffering of all the world. God did this to demonstrate God’s love for us. We believe that we receive the gift of grace by faith alone on account of Christ. We live in the tension of still being sinful but trusting that we are forgiven and that God is at work in us. The gift of grace expresses God’s unconditional love, and in response to that love we are set free to live gratefully and lovingly." (ELCA Faith Tradition ELCA Faith Tradition)
We are one member of the Rocky Mountain Synod within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, within the Lutheran World Federation. This connects us to 75 million Lutheran Christians in more than 100 countries.
We are human. We are not a group of people who “have our act together” or live up to some human measure of worthiness. Often, we are confused, lost, suffering, or dying. We hold the realities of our lives and world up to the light of Christ, while lamenting, praying, hoping, loving, laughing, and celebrating.
